On December 7th, the deputy prime minister Mr. Hoang Trung Hai examined the progress of the Ho Chi Minh-Long Thanh-Dau Giay highway; Accompanied by the chairman of the provincial people’ committee Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai
This highway is going to be put to use within the belt road No.2 (district 9, Ho Chi Minh city) to the national highway no. 51 (Long Thanh district) for 23km long. The construction unit has currently sped up to completion of some items such as: plastic carpet of the road leading to Long Thanh bridge (the overpass of Dong Nai river); installing hand-rail, painting traffic lane, lightening and signal system. It is expected that this road will be opened to traffic on December 28th 2013, and in the end of 2014 expanded to Dau Giay in order that the construction can be completed in 2015.
After examining, the deputy prime minister Mr. Hoang Trung Hai recommended the people’s committee of Ho Chi Minh city to early address issues arising from households and public works to hand over the place to the investor and ensure the construction in term of appropriate quality and progress. For local road, Dong Nai province and Vietnam highway investment and development company will soon conduct the construction so that it would be access to the residents without affecting the highway when it is opened to traffic. The Ministry of Transport reviews the entire solutions to ensure traffic safety, safe corridor and reasonable fee system. The Ministry of Construction supervises the management board to well control the advising unit, the construction contractor to ensure the construction in term of appropriate quality and progress.
Through testing the highways of Ho Chi Minh-Long Thanh-Dau Giay, the vice minister of the ministry of Transport Mr. Nguyen Van The has required Vietnam highway investment and development company to thoroughly research the intersection between the highway and national highway no. 51 for the traffic safety. Due to the high volume of traffic on the national highway no.51, the implementation of traffic circle and road leading to the highway here should be strictly calculated, the road at traffic circle should be enlarged at maximum to reduce traffic jam and avoid traffic conflict. Traffic signs, signal lamps are needed to finish soon and catch up with the time opening to traffic in the end of December, 2013.
