Japanese learn the project Long Thanh international airport

Long Thanh international airport project is being considered by Japanese Government ODA funding as proposed by the Japanese Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City. What the Japanese fret are some comments on the construction of Long Thanh international airport and the proposed expansion of Tan Son Nhat airport or Bien Hoa airport expansion.

Plans to expand the Bien Hoa airport faces similar difficulties.


Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh said, invest in Long Thanh international airport are the government plans and considered the best and attract the necessary capital to accelerate the construction. In terms of clearance, relocation of residents in this area are very small compared to Tan Son Nhat airport and Bien Hoa Airport. At the same time, connecting Long Thanh international airport with traffic will more convenient than meet the development needs of the region. 


Long Thanh International Airport planned area of about 5 thousand hectares with 4 runways. Phase 1 is expected to receive about 5 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo/year. When completed, the airport can receive the largest aircraft A380.
