382 voluntary blood donors to be honored

​Recently, Steering committee of voluntary blood donation held a ceremony to honor voluntary blood donors in 2011 and launched “red blood of summer” campaign in 2012. On this occasion, 382 people who have donated their blood more than 5 times were honored and awarded (among 7040 honored individuals).


​Voluntary blood donation is a social and humane activity which expresses the spirit of solidarity, sharing, helping each other in the community, helping patients overcome their critical conditions, maintaining their lives and bringing happiness. For more than 10 years, voluntary blood donation has been encouraged by all classes of citizens and become a movement that strongly developed with an annual increase in blood amount, step by step meeting the demands on emergency and treatment of patients in the province.

According to the report of Provincial Steering Committee of Voluntary blood donation, in 2011, there were more than 25,000 people who registered as blood donors, after 134 mobile blood donation drives, there were 22,878 blood units received (which took 129% as planed), meeting the demands on emergency treatment of the patients at provincial hospitals. The movement of “Pink Spring Festival” and “Red blood of Summer 2011” campaigns, which were launched by National and Provincial Steering Committees, attracted the responses of the community with 16,500 registers and 14,100 blood units.
