Annual meeting between provincial leaders and Japanese Association of Enterprises

Provincial People’s Committee organized a meeting with Japanese Association of Enterprises, Ho Chi Minh City Office on December 02nd.

The meeting witnessed the presence of Provincial People’s Committee Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai, Vice Chairwoman Mrs. Phan Thi My Thanh and Japanese Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City Hida Haruitsu together with leaders of the association and some Japanese companies that are investing in industrial zones of the province. 

At the meeting, major concerns of Japanese enterprises were schedule of Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, overpass at Vung Tau intersection. In terms of tax policy, they presented queries on preliminary tax for projects of increased investment; settlement of VAT-related situations; the work of information relating to amendment of Law on Tax. Moreover,  the implementation and application of Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System (VNACCS/VCIS), formalities in import of technology, machines and equipment were their concerns. Enterprises also reflected the inconsistence of administrative procedures in many places, causing difficulties in guidance and implementation. 

Moreover, enterprises raised the issue on stable electricity supply, limiting sudden power cut that challenges productions. Furthermore, they were concerned about human resources issues such as the extension of permit for foreign labor and proposed provincial agencies to support in recruitment of qualified workforce, particularly in microbiology, chemistry for Japanese enterprises in industrial parks.  

Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai and leaders of departments gave detailed answers to each issued raised by enterprises.
