(E. Portal of Dong Nai) Developing hi-tech agriculture is one of the breakthrough tasks of the province. Accordingly, the province's agricultural sector focuses on attracting investment and developing high-tech agriculture. In which, farmers, farm owners, and cooperative directors are the main forces actively approaching modern technology and boldly apply high-tech in all production fields.

Dong Nai also has the advantage of geographical location and other favorable conditions to attract enterprises to invest in high-tech agriculture associating with cooperatives and farmers to build value chains participating well in the international arena.
Farmers 4.0
As the livestock capital of the country, from a very early age, Dong Nai has oriented to develop livestock in the direction of modern industry. With two main livestock animal are pigs and chickens, livestock farming accounts for about 90%. In which, about 21% of livestock farms use cold and closed cages; 11.5% of farms apply automation technology; about 45% of the total pig herd, 31% of the total chicken herd of enterprises are traceable. In particular, many livestock farms are using the world's leading modern technology.
Typically, Long Thanh Phat High-tech Agriculture Cooperative (Long Thanh district) is a partner to supply safe chicken meat for export to the Japanese market. Mr. Le Van Quyet, Director of Long Thanh Phat High-Tech Agriculture Cooperative said: “In order to raise chickens that are qualified for export to the Japanese market, many years ago, farm owners joining the chicken farming linking chain for export of Dong Nai have implemented the farming process that met GlobalGAP standards. They also poured large capital to build modern cages; planned strict breeding process according to the standards of Japanese consumers".
In the field of aquaculture, the province is also oriented towards high-tech and safe development. Typically, Nhon Trach district has established intensive areas for shrimp farming applying high-tech. Mr. Nguyen Truong Dai, a farmer pioneering the application of high-tech in industrial shrimp farming in Vinh Thanh commune (Nhon Trach district) analyzed that with new farming technology such as: lining with nylon at the bottom of the pond, making nets to cover the side on farming ponds, there is a pond water treatment system, automatic shrimp feeding machine... the shrimp yield per harvest is many times higher than that of earthen ponds; can increase from 4-5 crops per year, not just 2 crops like the traditional farming method.
In the field of cultivation, farmers also soon formed an agricultural style, boldly applying high-tech to production. Since 2011, Mr. Do Nhat Tam, a farmer in Xuan Dinh commune (Xuan Loc district) has boldly invested billions dong to build a greenhouse to grow melons. This dynamic farmer is always interested in improving and applying new techniques and technologies to production. As a result, the products made are not only sold well in stores and supermarkets of clean fruits in many big cities, but also exported to Japan by enterprises.
"Old farmer" Tran Van Muoi at Tan An commune (Vinh Cuu district) bravely spent about 600 million VND to buy drones to spray and fertilize his family grape fruit garden of 10 hectares. Mr. Muoi compared, using drones in spraying and fertilizing saves 20% of labor costs. In addition to the benefits of labor and time, the drones spray pesticides from above, evenly spreading, covering the entire crop for better pest control efficiency. It is important that farmers' health is ensured because they no longer have to come into direct contact with chemical fertilizers and drugs.
Mr. Muoi also actively converted from traditional farming to organic production, prioritizing the use of manure and taking advantage of all available agricultural by-products in the garden such as young grape fruits, drifting grapefruit, lemongrass, etc. chilies ... to make fertilizers, biological drugs to prevent and control diseases on plants. “This solution also helps the garden soil become more and more porous, fertile, and plants grow better. Input costs reduced, so I still make a profit when I sell clean grape fruits at normal prices," said Mr. Muoi.

Attracting businesses to participate
Dong Nai is a good land to attract enterprises to invest in high-tech agriculture. They really become the pioneers contributing to the development of local high-tech agriculture. The highlight in the development of high-tech agriculture in Dong Nai is that both farmers and businesses do not apply stereotypes but very creative in applying high-tech to production, there are many improvements to reduce investment costs, suitable for local production conditions. In which, many enterprises are the leading enterprises linking with farmers to replicate high-tech agricultural models into reality.
Specifically, Viet Farm Trading Co., Ltd invested in an organic fertilizer factory in Xuan Loc district which was an impressive high-tech model because it turned livestock waste into money instead of having to spend a lot of money to process. The owner of this business was Mr. Tran Quang Tinh, a mechanical engineer so he had many improvements in machinery and equipment to better suit the reality of domestic production based on modern technological principles of the world. Mr. Tran Quang Tinh shared: "The enterprise's chicken farm model does not have a bad smell because the excrement is dried and treated immediately. My improvement of the fertilizer production line saves investment costs many times compared to importing raw technology from abroad for use."
In addition, Viet Farm Trading Co., Ltd also invested in a 13-hectare farm with a system of membrane houses to grow clean vegetables and fruits. The owner of this business also does not "invent" technology from abroad to use, but has many improvements, even making the equipment and machinery in the greenhouse; self-designs robots that are automatically programmed in watering plants; applies solar energy to operate the cooling system in the greenhouse to have the cheapest production cost…
According to Mr. Tinh: “The enterprise is ready to transfer to clean production technique from greenhouse technology and sell products. This is a good opportunity for farmers to switch to safe production, with high economic value to get out of the vicious cycle of only running after quantity, so the harvest is devaluation."
WinEco Agricultural Development and Production Investment Co., Ltd invested in a high-tech vegetable farm in greenhouses, net houses at Long Phuoc commune (Long Thanh district) on a large scale. This is the first high-tech clean vegetable production area of Dong Nai province that has been granted a planting area code for export to the European market. The farm has built a closed, centralized production process from selecting sources of land-water, seeds, planting seeds, caring, harvesting, preliminary processing - packaging - post-harvest preservation and transport to consumption in supermarket system. The biggest goal of the enterprise is to organize linkages and transfer technology and safe farming technique to farmers in order to develop safe, high-tech agriculture in the locality.
