Accordingly, the model of intensive shrimp farming, applying high technology is being replicated in the province. This is also the development orientation of the province in the coming period in the direction of changing from traditional intensive farming to mechanization and gradually changing to automation, forming high-tech farming areas. The most prominent model is brackish water shrimp farming in districts of Long Thanh and Nhon Trach.

In the context of agricultural production facing many difficulties, the aquaculture industry still achieved growth. Specifically, in 2022, the province's aquaculture industry grew well with a total seafood output of more than 74,000 tons,  increased of nearly 5.4% compared to 2021.
