​In 2-day working visit to Thai Nguyen on the occasion of the 122th birthday of president Ho Chi Minh and 65 years after Uncle Ho safely returned to Dinh Hoa area to direct the war against the French, State President spent the first half day visiting ATK historic site, incensing Uncle Ho memorial house and planting trees at the site.


He wrote in the scrapbook: “This generation promises to study and follow the example of Uncle Ho; strives to build a better, bigger and more beautiful country as Uncle Ho’s wish”

 State President plants memorial trees at Command of Military district 1
on the morning of May 20, 2012
In the morning of May 20th, State president visited and worked with the Command of Military district 1, which is stationed at Thai Nguyen. Commander of Military district 1, General Be Xuan Truong, reported the  difficulties, advantages of national security and defense mission; taking care of the citizens in 6 provinces under the military district and also proposed a few immediate and long-term solutions. Acknowledging the proposals of the Commander of Military district 1, the president said that after stabilizing the macroeconomic and budget, there would be certain priorities on focusing on economic and social development of the Northeast and Northwest regions, where there are 34 out of 62 poor districts nationwide.
 
In the afternoon, State President Truong Tan Sang had a meeting with businessmen of Thai Nguyen province. Reporting to the President, Mr Nguyen Duc Minh, Director of Planning and Investment Department, said that in 2011 there were more than 300 corporations that stopped doing business or dissolved; in the first quarter of 2012 there were 100 corporations in addition. Mr Minh proposed that there should be certain policies for handling corporations’ difficulties, especially lowing bank interest rate to a reachable level; supporting corporations’ management capacity…
 
Acknowledging the feedbacks of functional departments and local corporations, State President confirmed that the Government would plan to help corporations, “But corporations must also find out appropriate products and strategies to survive in this competitive market” said the President.
