CPI in Jan. 2010 compared with December 2009 is up 1.28%, up 7.79% over Jan. 2009
Compared with Dec. 2009, price of gold in 2010 is down 5.54%; price of dollar is down 0.18%. However, because in 2009 price of gold grew much, in Jan. 2010, gold price index is up 51.93% ; price index of dollar also is up 11.87% over Jan. 2009.
By now, there is a wide variety of commodities in the province to meet demand of people on Lunar New Year 2010.
Electrical and electronic goods discounted by the end of the lunar year have raised buying power substantially. Price of agricultural products has been fairly stable and that of fertilizers is up VND300 to VND 500 per kilogram over the last month. For foods, due to distinctive features of days near Tet, the price increases considerably.
