Bien Hoa Metro Cash & Carry Center opens

On July 7, the German Metro Cash & Carry Group opened Metro Bien Hoa, the 9th one in Vietnam. The German Consul General in Vietnam Conrad Cappell, the Vice-president of Metro Group Heirich O.E. Birr and the Chairman Vo Van Mot representing Dong Nai People’s Committee attended the opening ceremony.

 

The representatives of the Group and the Provincial People’s committee cut the inauguration tape.

The Metro Bien Hoa is located at Quang Vinh Ward in Bien Hoa city with the area over 4 hectares including 7,000 meters square of stands. The total investment capital is 20 million euros - 17 million of which is for goods. It currently sells 25,000 food and non-food items consisting of 90% domestic products for wholesale and takes into consideration basic customer groups like restaurants, offices, factories and Metro dealers.

More than 650 Metro Cash & Carry centers are in 29 countries all over the world. The Metro has been in Vietnam since 2002. 8 Metro Centers was invested throughout the nation with totally $120 million invested capital and today the 9th one appears. The International Metro has distinctive features compared with other suppliers of Vietnam because it is the only wholesaler operated with its modern commercial form – cash & carry.    

According to the vice-president of the province peoples’ committee Dinh Quoc Thai at the opening ceremony, the Metro should meet the shopping needs of people, implement Vietnamese laws & environmental policies well, well-treat laborers and particularly ensure the quality of products and food hygiene & safety as well.
