The total estimated volume of retail sales of commodities and service trade reaches VND5.3 billion in December 2009

According to information of Department of Trade and Industry, the total estimated volume of retail sales of commodities and service trade in December 2009 is VND5,292 billion, up 3.3% over the last month. This is estimated at VND45,453 billion throughout 2009, up 20.5% over the same period , fulfilling 99.55 of plan.

  

Foodstuff sales volume has a considerable increase

Among businesses, commerce occupies the highest density, up 20.18%; the second is service, with a 20% increase; the following is hotels and restaurants, with 25% increase; tourism occupies the lowest density, with a 21.83% increase compared with that of last year.

This month, due to purchase and construction demand growth by the end of the year, price indexes of 11 commodity and service groups have climbed slightly compared with the last month, with the most increase being traffic (3.46%), the second being restaurants and eating service (2.27%), which included foods up 7.48% and foodstuff up 0.92%.
