Fresh fruit exports to the Chinese market account for a large proportion, so any changes in import-related policies in this market greatly affect Vietnam's fruit and vegetable market.
Ms. Tran Thi Tu Oanh, Deputy Director of the Sub-Department of Cultivation, Plant Protection and Irrigation (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), said that to prepare for the official export of durian products to the Chinese market, from the beginning of 2021, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with specialized agencies of districts and cities to propagate and guide businesses, organizations and individuals wishing to export agricultural products the regulations on issuance of agricultural products. growing area code, packing facility. As a result, all growing areas and packing facilities in the province passed in the first round of assessment and code issuance by the General Administration of Customs of China. In the coming time, the Sub-department will continue to promote communication, training, inspection and supervision to improve the capacity and awareness of people and businesses in compliance and standardization of planting areas and facilities. packing department.

Calculation for long term plan
At the conference "Deploying durian export to China" taking place on September 12, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan emphasized, it is necessary to prepare for the long journey, bringing high prices. high value for durian industry. Not only selling durian here, but also building the image of Vietnamese durian to the crowded and fastidious market, China.. At the same time, through the story of durian fruit, looking back at the value chain of agricultural products, looking back at the advantages, potentials, risks and challenges from the outside. Minister Le Minh Hoan said: “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. We must learn to rely on each other, instead of competing, squeezing each other. This is how to bring durian fruit to the Chinese market"
Minister Le Minh Hoan also emphasized, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Therefore, it is necessary to build a transparent agriculture, starting from the story of durian fruit through standardizing varieties, processes, markets, knowledge of farmers... The agricultural sector needs to train and standardize farmers, avoiding counterfeiting of traceability; building trust and responsibility between businesses and farmers with the support of state management agencies…

Replicating the planting area code, packing facility code to promote the export of key fruit products is also the orientation Dong Nai province is focusing on in the coming time. According to a report by the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, over the past time, the agricultural sector has focused on supporting farmers, cooperatives and businesses to develop planting area codes and export packing codes for key crops in the province. Only from the beginning of the year until now, the province has had 7 area codes for durian growing areas and is focusing on monitoring and completing documents to submit a new recognition of 12 area codes for banana and durian export. The province also has 5 banana and durian packing facilities that have been granted export codes and 19 packing facilities are waiting for approval to issue export codes.
To be eligible for a code, packers must develop a packaging process according to the requirements of the importing country from the point of import to the warehouse, handling fruit, raw material storage area to finished product warehouse must be hygienic... In particular, all exported fruits must have a traceability stamp; Containers must be labeled with full information about the product, place of production or growing area code, name or code of the packing facility...

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Lam Sinh, accumulated up to now, the whole province has 120 planting area codes for export to China, the US, EU, Australia, New Zealand... with a total area of more than 24,000 hectares. Up to now, the whole province has 53 codes of packing facilities to China, USA, EU, Australia, New Zealand...
