​The Ministry of Transport has approved the list of investment projects to build 4 aircraft maintenance areas (No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4) at Long Thanh International Airport.

The Ministry of Transport approves the list of investment projects to build 4 aircraft maintenance zones at Long Thanh Airport

The investment objective is to build and operate the aircraft maintenance and repair area serving phase 1 of the construction investment project of Long Thanh Airport phase 1; provides maintenance services for aircraft up to code F, which must include aircraft currently registered in Vietnam such as: Boeing B777/B787, Airbus A330/A350 and narrow-body aircraft such as: A320/A321, Boeing 737NGs according to the standard requirements of Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAA) / US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) / European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Regarding the expected land use demand, each maintenance area will have a construction scale of about 4.5ha.

The Ministry of Transport also assigned the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to be responsible for receiving appraisal opinions of the Public-Private Partnership Department to complete the project portfolio; Publicizing the project list and implementing follow-up procedures in accordance with regulations to ensure that the organization implementing the selection of project investors is open and transparent. At the same time, continue to review the contents of the project list during the implementation process, report to the Ministry of Transport to adjust and supplement accordingly in case of necessity, ensuring feasibility.
