Nestlé leads circular economy model

​Recently, at the 5th National Environment Conference in 2022, Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared its production initiatives under the circular economy model, towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. Nestlé is an FDI enterprise that has invested in 3 factories producing coffee and nutritional drinks in Dong Nai. Nestlé's circular economy model was highly appreciated by the participants. Specifically, with the above model, the company will reduce emissions by nearly 12.7 thousand tons of CO2 / year, all coffee grounds after production are reused as biomass materials and this material will be used as fuel for boiler operation. Then the waste from the boiler is recycled into unburnt bricks and organic fertilizer.

Accordingly, the factories of Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd in Dong Nai are taking the lead in implementing the circular economy model. Speaking to direct the 5th National Environment Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh highly appreciated the important progress in the field of environmental protection, environmental protection initiatives presented at the exhibition and efforts as well as positive contributions from the business community, including Nestlé Vietnam.
