WP - On July 17, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference with the topic of "Deploying training high-quality human resources of Dong Nai province in 2020, contributing to providing human resources for Long Thanh international airport (IA)". Attending were representatives of Vietnam Aviation Science Institute (VASI), Vietnam Association on Aviation Science and Technology (VAAST) and representatives of the management board of some high schools in the province.

According to calculations by the Institute of VASI, when put Long Thanh IA into operation phase 1, it will have a capacity of 25 million passengers / year. The total labor force serving the airport in this period is expected to be about 16.5 thousand people. According to the experience of professional training of aviation training centers, the loss during and after the training process is about 15%.
“Therefore, assuming that the labor source for Long Thanh IA in this stage is 100% new recruitment, the number of input trainees required for training is over 18,000 people” said Mr. Do Hong Truong, Deputy Director of VASI.
At the conference, the delegates focused on discussing such issues as: labor demand for construction and exploitation of Long Thanh International Cooperation; the degree of vocational training response in the province; the cooperation of vocational schools with the VASI in vocational training; role and position of local businesses in human resource training, exploiting economic resources from the IA ...
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Van Tinh, Director of Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requested that after this conference, the Department of Vocational Education (Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) advised to set up a professional group to connect the VASI and VAAST units to use employees at the IA from vocational schools in the province to determine the occupational skills required at each job position serving Long Thanh IA. Since then, vocational schools have adjusted and updated the training programs and modules to meet practical needs.
