Many vehicles not allowed to cross Cat Lai ferry to fight Covid-19

WP - Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just agreed with the plan to organize traffic via Cat Lai ferry from April 7 to April 15 at the request of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport.

Specifically, the vehicles are not allowed to travel through the ferry: passenger cars on fixed routes, tourist cars, taxis, buses, contract vehicles (including contract vehicles of less than 9 seats applied with technology; except for special cases due to official duties and cases of providing necessary food and necessities; shuttle buses for workers, experts of enterprises, vehicles for transporting production materials); vehicles with a tonnage of 8 tons or more.

Operating hours for people and vehicles allowed from 5am to 9am in the morining, from 16:00 to 20:00 in the afternoon. The remaining time only serves necessary means of transporting food and necessities; shuttle bus for workers and experts of enterprises, vehicles transporting production materials, official vehicles, emergency vehicles, and anti-pandemic vehicles.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned District 2 People's Committee, Head of District 2's Prevention and Control Steering Committee against Covid-19 to carry out the pandemic control. Specifically, they shall control the compliance with the regulations of the Prime Minister and the health sector on prevention and control of Covid-19; inspect and supervise the restriction of entry and exit of the city for people and vehicles; carry out medical quarantine for people entering and leaving the city; inspect the implementation of personal protective measures for people entering and leaving the city under the guidance of the health sector and the competent agencies; handle and propose handling of violations against the Covid-19 pandemic prevention.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also proposed the Management Board of the Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks of the city and the Labor Federation of the city to inform their workers and employees about the operation plan at Cat Lai ferry so that they can be assured to work and have an appropriate travel plan. In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport and Communications was assigned to assume responsibility and coordinate with relevant agencies to work with Dong Nai Department of Transport. Nhon Trach District People's Committee and the units agreed on the plan.
