Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam affirmed that up to now, Vietnam has been controlling the pandemic.

Speaking in the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam thanked the People for their efforts and unanimity in combating the pandemic despite suffering many inconveniences and even disadvantages in terms of economic benefits. Moreover, many organizations, businesses and individuals, from the elderly to the children, have done countless beautiful and meaningful deeds to add material and spiritual strength to the fight against the pandemic. The pandemic situation in the world is still very complicated and unpredictable. There are still many difficulties ahead and there are many potential risks, so it is mandatory to be not subjective and inattentive. Therefore, it is very necessary to gain the unanimity of the whole people then we will definitely defeat the pandemic.

Also according to the Deputy Prime Minister, as of today (April 6), Vietnam has experienced exactly 1 month from stage II, if counting from the date we had the first case, it was 2 and a half months. At that time, Vietnam was one of the first few countries to have the earliest case. To date, Vietnam has 241 cases, ranking 96th in the world in the number of cases and is also one of the few countries with more than 200 cases without deaths.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that until now, Vietnam has been controlling the pandemic thanks to the close and proper leadership of the Party and the State; the complete and drastic participation of the functional forces. But especially and above all thanks to the participation of the people in the spirit of “every citizen is a soldier on the front of the pandemic prevention.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee discussed preparing facilities and equipment for the pandemic prevention; implementing concentrated isolation and social distancing; analyzing, assessing the situation and forecasting the pandemic movements in the coming time to take appropriate measures to cope with it; manufacturing breathing apparatus, procuring equipment and medical supplies; controlling the pandemic in border zones and deploying support to a number of countries to in their pandemic prevention, etc.
