In recent days, many agencies, units and supermarkets in the province have promoted the connection of consumption of agricultural products such as lychee, purple sweet potato, pumpkin, etc. from provinces and cities throughout the country, especially the localities affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
Representatives of Dong Nai Province Market Surveillance Agency and Provincial Post Office mobilize businesses to purchase the lychee of Bac Giang Province
The Dong Nai Province Market Surveillance Agency in collaboration with the Provincial Post Office is implementing a program to support Bac Giang lychee consumption. According to Mr. Vo Van Tinh, Acting Director of Dong Nai Province Market Surveillance Agency, this is an activity in the overall plan to coordinate, support, and create favorable conditions for the transport and consumption of agricultural products of different regions which have a large amount of agricultural products in the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic (including Bac Giang lychee) of Dong Nai Province Market Surveillance Agency.
This program aims to implement the Directive 08/CT-BCT dated May 25, 2021 of the Minister of Industry and Trade on creating favorable conditions in circulation and enhancing the consumption of agricultural products right in Vietnamese market; especially the provinces having the huge volume of agricultural products, or focal production regions under the effect of Covid-19 epidemic. The program is also to carry out the Document No. 1102/TCQLTT-VPTC dated June 1, 2021 of the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance on the implementation of the program to support the consumption of 3 thousand tons of Bac Giang lychee.
Ms. Duong Thi Viet Huong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Post Office said in the context of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Post Office not only focuses on its business but also focuses on the spirit of serving the community. In particular, recently, the unit cooperated with the Dong Nai Province Market Surveillance Agency to implement a program to connect and consume Bac Giang lychee. Accordingly, the Provincial Post Office will handle the packaging, preservation and transportation of the lychee, ensuring product quality and safety. The Post Office has directly transported and delivered goods to units, organizations and individuals in the province that have ordered to buy the lychee.
Ms. Cam Nhung, a worker at Pou Chen Vietnam Enterprise Ltd (Hoa An Ward, Bien Hoa City) said that as soon as the company's trade union widely announced and propagated the program to support the consumption of Bac Giang lychee to all workers in the factory, she and many colleagues decided to buy 5-10kg per person to support. “I regularly listen to radio and read newspapers, so I know that the Covid-19 epidemic has been having a heavy impact on all economic activities, including the consumption of agricultural products with large output such as lychee in Bac Giang. In my opinion, this support program is very practical and humane", - Ms. Cam Nhung added.
Up to now, the above-mentioned units have coordinated and connected to support the consumption of more than 110 tons of lychee. There have been many businesses and units that ordered and purchased large quantities of lychee. In the coming days, the Provincial Post Office, Dong Nai Province Market Surveillance Agency together with relevant units will continue to conduct connections and mobilize businesses, agencies, organizations and individuals in the province to support the Bac Giang lychee consumption until the end of this year's lychee crop.
According to leaders of many supermarkets, commercial centers, markets based in Dong Nai Province, the Covid-19 epidemic has caused many difficulties in selling agricultural products. Therefore, since May 2021, the above organizations have implemented various activities to support farmers, especially supporting epidemic-hit areas to consume the ripe agricultural products.
