Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang spoke at the working session

At the meeting, representatives of Sojitz Group introduced the inter-city cooperation project of the Japanese Ministry of the Environment to promote the development of smart, green industrial parks. The project has been implemented for 5 years, in 13 countries, including Vietnam (in Hanoi, Da Nang and Quang Ninh province). Sojitz Group wants to introduce this project to Dong Nai through interprovincial cooperation with Kobe city (Japan) because the two localities have similar conditions in terms of industrial development, seaport and airport services. The proposed cooperation contents are: building a green, smart industrial park data platform; improve the efficiency of industrial waste treatment towards an industrial park model without CO2 emissions; energy saving mechanisms that is consistent with Dong Nai's development orientation. If implemented, the program will contribute to deepening the contents that Dong Nai signed with the Kansai region (Japan) as Kobe city is a part of the region; improve the environment of the province's industrial parks, thereby creating a competitive advantage.

Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang assessed that the group's proposed contents were consistent with the orientation of converting existing industrial parks to a green and ecological direction that Vietnam, including Dong Nai, is implementing. Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of External Relations and the Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authority to coordinate with Sojitz Group to implement the project according to the group's proposed 3-year roadmap (2024-2026).

Sojitz is a trading and investment corporation in Japan established in 2003 on the basis of the merger of Nissho Iwai and Nichimen Groups. In Dong Nai, Sojitz is a joint venture investor in Long Duc Industrial Park (Long Thanh District).
