WEB PORTAL - In October 2020, Dong Nai’s industrial production index increased by nearly 2.2% over the previous month. According to the Department of Planning and Investment, in the first 10 months of 2020, the industrial production index increased by 5.72% over the same period. In which, the mining industry increased by over 7%; processing industry increased by more than 6%; production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam increased nearly 1%; water supply, waste and water management and treatment increased by nearly 12%.
Secondary industries with food production and processing increased by nearly 5% because food processing, animal feed manufacturing enterprises still obtained contracts and demand for products was quite stable, so it was less affected. Textile industry increased by more than 2.13%, this industry was heavily influenced by COVID-19, but through October 2020, its production and business situation was better due to the addition of new contracts.
Apparel manufacturing increased approximately 4%; leather and related products by 8.25%. This industry still maintained its good growth due to the previous production contracts, some European countries re-imported after the Covid outbreak. Some companies with good growth are Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd., Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd., Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company, Dona Standar Vietnam Co., Ltd. with an increase of over 10% on YoY basis.
