13 social housing projects are under construction

According to the Department of Construction, there are about 410,000 people in the province who are in need of social housing and are concentrated in Bien Hoa City, Long Thanh District, Nhon Trach District, and Trang Bom District. In which, about 310,000 people from other provinces coming to Dong Nai to work in enterprises and 100,000 people in the province. Currently, in the province, there are 13 social housing projects being implemented, when completed, there will be nearly 10,750 houses for sale or rent to low-income people.

According to the social housing plan for the 2021-2030 period, Dong Nai will reserve 924 hectares of land to invest in the construction of social housing, including nearly 310 hectares for housing projects for workers and 614 hectares for other people. The majority of the land area for social housing is in commercial housing projects that are subject to 20% set aside. So far, many commercial housing projects have not been implemented, or are being implemented but have not yet completed the technical infrastructure to re-allocate 20% of the land area for social housing construction. Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee has requested the Department of Construction to review the above projects, urge the investor to urgently complete the technical infrastructure of the 20% land area and hand it over to the locality to carry out the procedures to select investors to implement social housing projects, meeting the needs of the disadvantaged for housing, especially housing for workers in Industrial Zones.
