On September 18th, at the hall of provincial People's Procuracy, the delegation of provincial Assembly held a conference collecting comments on the draft Law on Attorney with the attendance of representatives of: public security, court, people’s procuracy, justice department and provincial attorney delegation.
On the basis
that draft law conveying amendments to several articles in the Law on Attorney was
discussed for the first time at the third working session, of National Assembly
term XIII, acquired and revised by National Assembly’s Standing Committee.
However, at this conference, the representative of National Assembly delegation
pointed out some contents need discussing in 13 articles of the Law on
Attorney. Most of the attendants agreed with the contents for draft Law on
Attorney (amended). Many delegates assumed that, with the supplemented and
revised contents, the draft Law been improved more objectively and reasonably.
Besides, according to some delegates, some provisions on attorney regulatory
affairs need supplementing. They said that administrative state agencies have
not paid attention to the issue of protecting the interest of officials on duty
because attorney regulatory affairs are not prescribed in the Law. Besides,
many delegates also gave comments on other issues such as: restrictions on an
attorney’s rights to practice; training, certificate granting, obligations and
organizations of law practice.

Law on Attorney will be passed by National Assembly’s Standing Committee and
valid after July 01st, 2013
