Activities of Dong Nai investment promotion delegation in Korea on May 8, 9 2005

Mr. Pham Tien Van, Vietnamese ambassador to Korea welcomes Dong Nai delegation

This is the biggest delegation ever leading by Mr. Vo Van Mot, chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, consisting of 39 members from provincial departments and agencies such as Planning and Investment, foreign affair, science and technology, environment and resource, Customs, industrial zones management boards, Dong Nai newspaper correspondent, Dong Nai Radio and Television and representatives of infrastructure construction company such as Sonadezi Corporation, Civil construction No 2 Company. 

The delegation will stay in Korea from May 7 to May 15 and has two important conferences in Seoul and Busan where have many enterprises in Korea. Then the delegation will visit Gyong Nam City twinned with Dong Nai province. Through this visiting, Dong Nai province aims to looking for competent investors to construct Dong Nai Hospital, one of biggest hospital in southern Viet Nam in the future as to integrate with the world. Accompanying with the delegation, Minh Thanh, Dong Nai Radio and Television correspondent, with technical support of Dong Nai department of Science and Technology, has sent news on the activities of delegation in Korea.

With the special interest on this investment incentive program of Dong Nai province, Mr. Kim Ji Yong, Korean general consul to Ho Chi Minh City, has met and talked with Mr. Vo Van Mot, chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee and members of delegation in the lounge of Tan Son Nhat Airport on many aspects of foreign investment in Dong Nai, particularly aspect of how to make Dong Nai province become an fascinating land to foreign investors, especially Korean investor. He appreciates that investment environment in Viet Nam and Dong Nai province is improved better and better. He also reminds that Dong Nai has to place great investments on infrastructure systems in the future as to keep pace with the development as to attract foreign investments. 

On May 8th, chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee and officials of Dong Nai department of Planning and Investment talks with a Korean construction consultant company as to perfect the design of Dong Nai Polyclinic hospital. Then he visits two modern hospitals in Korea, one has just been brought into use for 10 days. 

This morning, May 9 2005, the delegation pays a visit to Mr. Pham Tien Van, Vietnamese ambassador to Korea and informs him about its agenda. On behalf of delegation, Mr. Vo Van Mot reports to the Ambassador on results of attracting foreign investments into Dong Nai and appreciates the contributions of Vietnamese enterprises in Korean. The ambassador highly values the incentive investment program of Dong Nai province in Korea and informs delegation about the relationship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Korea on many fields such as political, economy, financial support, culture, education, export, investment incentive...etc. His information is not only useful for this incentive investment program but also future development orientation. Accordingly, the relationship between Viet Nam and Korea has well developed in the recent years on many aspects. The visiting of Korean president and prime minister creates many co-ordination prospects for the two countries. Having 860 projects, with the total capital of over 4.8 billion USD, Korea is one of the four biggest investors in Viet Nam. Since 1992, Korea has supported Viet Nam many important ODA aids of about 160 million USD per year. Each year, there are about 200 thousands Korean people traveling to Viet Nam and 25,000 Vietnamese labours working in Korea. It’s like that in the near future there will have a new trend of Korean investment into Viet Nam. Therefore, this trip is necessary

As planed, in the evening of May 10, the delegation will host a conference at the supporting small and medium enterprises  center (SBC) in Seoul. There are about 300 enterprises registering to the conference.
