* Impressive performances!
Gyeongnam Youth Delegation impressed students of Lac Hong University, Dong Nai University and Dong Nai College of Art and Culture with their featured traditional performances, such as: The Dance of Peace, The Drum Dance and The Fan Dance,
Pham Thi Mai Phuong (Eastern Department – Korean, Lac Hong University) shared about what she learned about Korean history, culture and people during 4 years in school, yet still felt overwhelmed by the Delegation’s performances. To her, the most impressive performance was the Fan Dance (Buchaechum) – One of the most typical folk dances in Korea. Everyone wore the same traditional dresses, holding 2 large and colorful fans on their hands and with the skillful moves, the dancers transformed into a blooming flower right in front of my eyes.
Nguyen Huu Tai (Dong Nai College of Art and Culture) shared that he had chance to learn more not only about Korean culture and people but also the performing experience from delegations. After graduation, he would be more self-confident going to the stage.
Beside the performances from Gyeongnam Youth Delegation, there were many performances from the students of of Lac Hong University, Dong Nai University and Dong Nai College of Art and Culture such as: The Dance “Vietnam – My Country”, The Bamboo Dance, modern dance, erhu and saxophone… to show the delegation more about Vietnamese culture. Especially, students from the Eastern department – Korean, Lac Hong University) performed the Korean folk song – Holla Arirang, wearing Korean traditional dress.
Choi Shin Young (one of the youngest delegates, from Kimhae girls’ school) was so surprise with the Holla Arirang performed by Dong Nai students. That was the first time she visited Vietnam and thanks to the event, she knew more about Dong Nai culture as well as Vietnamese culture.
