On June 30 morning, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a seminar entitled “Practicing better management of aquaculture in Dongnai province” with participants including a lot of experts, scientists, managers, and aquaculture farmers in Dinh Quan and Bien Hoa city.

Being the biggest submerged lake in Vietnam (32,400 hectares), water surface area of Tri An lake in the dry season decreases significantly, sometimes thousands of hectares flooded. The semi-submerged areas that are about 5000 hectares can be used for aquaculture. According to inadequate statistics, for the time being, 50 households are growing field anabas in 40 hectares in total, gaining fairly big income.

At the seminar, experts of WWF brought out reports on better management practice for growing field anabas in straits of semi-submerged areas of Tri An lake and results of checking situations of growing field red fish in floats in lower section of Dongnai river of Dinh Quan and Bien Hoa city.
