Natural disaster, diseases and rising price of animal feed are hardship that aquacultural farmers have to face |
Additionally, price of feeds and materials is rising, which results in losses that put many burdens on farmer’s shoulders. Ponds and lakes are almost abandoned and land for aquaculture is narrowed critically. Reportedly, from early July till now, brackish water aquaculture has got its recovery and there have been many households that resume the breeding of white-leg shrimps. The breeding land is around 80 ha and the rest of 450 ha is still abandoned and it takes certain time to get it improved for future purposes. The density of aquaculture in 2010 is significantly plunged by only 50-60 per m2 (previously 100-120 per m2)
