Adjustment of minimum salary for laborers at enterprises must be reported before December 20, 2010

According to Head of Labor Policy Office Dao Ngoc Hoang, Dong Nai Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs sent the Document No.1749/2010 to all enterprises in Dong Nai province. The Document requires all enterprises in the province to adjust regional minimum salary level for laborers under the Decree No.107/2010/ND-CP and Decree No.108/2010/ND-CP and to implement some policies for laborers.


 

Enterprises must adjust regional minimum salary for laborers in accordance with two recently-issued decrees of the Government

 

Accordingly, based on the Government's regulations and financial capability, enterprises actively should join hands with grassroots Labor Union's Executive Board to set up salary scales and salary payrolls and the method of adjusting regional minimum salary level for laborers. For those who have their own salary scales and payrolls, they need to reply on the regional minimum salary level to adjust the salary level as regulated. It was noted that enterprises should ask advice from grassroots Labor Union's Executive Board and neighboring enterprises to ensure the balance between salary level and income for new and old labor, skilled labor, unskilled and less-skilled labor, direct and indirect labor. The Department checked the implementation of regulations at enterprises, amending and supplementing the articles that enterprises conducted wrongly or had not yet carried out, especially the articles related to laborers’ rights including salary, allowance, labor conditions, and social insurance, etc. All these things aim to prevent and avoid labor disputes.

Moreover, the Department also asked enterprises to create favorable conditions for laborers to be off on Tet holiday and early pay salary and bonuses for laborers. The enterprises whose employees live outside the province must actively joined hands with the Department of Transport to help laborers visit their hometown on Tet days. All details about the adjustment of salary level and Tet bonuses for laborers have to be made clear and reported to the Department before December 20, 2010 (for salary level) and before December 31, 2020 (for Tet bonuses).
