According to the company’s report, 3,000 out of 6,500 cubic meters of sewage in rarefaction treatment tank is currently filtered by RO filter membrane under the supervision of Department of Natural Resources and Environment. The company is investing $10 million in construction of A-standard sewage treatment plant and planning to invest $3 to 4 million more in environmental processing. In order to test the plant and have remaining 21,000 cubic meters in the tank treated, AB Mauri Vietnam proposed Provincial People’s Committee to allow it to start test run of the plant with its capacity in four to eight weeks.
Addressing the meeting, vice chairman Ao Van Thinh said that although company’s closedown has greatly affected workers’ life, for environment, it has to be done, in accordance with Vietnam laws. That it is allowed to reopen or not and how long could it operate depends on evaluation of the authorities responsible for environment.
