On May 24, the representative of Vietnam Electricity EVN worked with the Provincial People's Committee on electricity supply and saving solutions.
Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang concludes the meeting
At the meeting, Mr. Cao Quang Quynh, a member of the Memebr Council of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) said that from then until the end of June, electricity operation would still be difficult due to low water in hydropower reservoirs including Tri An hydropower reservoir in Dong Nai province, seriously affecting electricity supply. However, the electricity industry would deploy many solutions including buying electricity at high price to ensure electricity supply. The electricity industry committed not to cut off electricity, save or reduce electricity except in special cases or breakdowns.
EVN proposed the Provincial People's Committee to direct and call on agencies, units, businesses and all people to practice saving electricity. The specific level proposed by EVN to the province was: 2% for large electricity consumers (over 3 million KWh/month); 50% of public lighting; 10% for agencies and units (except hospitals, schools)…
Agreeing with EVN's solutions, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said that the province had worked and issued plans to direct departments, branches and localities to seriously save electricity. The proposed targets were basically consistent with the plan and target of the province. Particularly, the target of saving 2% of electricity for large customers needed to be reconsidered, because at that time, priority must be given to the power source for industrial production, the priority objects using electricity in the province.
Mr. Cao Quang Quynh, a member of the Member Council of Vietnam Electricity speaking at the meeting with provincial leader.
The Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggested that EVN worked with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ministries and branches to agree and guide on procedures to remove obstacles for consumer solar power in Dong Nai province to increase electricity output. Dong Nai Electricity cooperated with the Department of Industry and Trade to promote propaganda, guide, sign and inspect the implementation of electricity saving.
