At the beginning of 2023, the winter-spring rice crop brought farmers in the district a bountiful crop with high yield and higher rice prices compared to the same period last year, this is the result of the exploiting high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture in association with sustainable consumption markets to increase the value of agricultural products.

Creating a clean rice brand for Dong Nai
As a person boldly investing in experimenting with organic rice production, Mr. Nguyen Van Khai (Phu Dien commune) spent 7 hectares of rice growing area to grow organic rice. According to Mr. Khai, organic rice production helped farmers to reduce costs and avoided chemical drugs. Currently, Mr. Khai's rice field has been in the harvest period. The highlight in organic farming was the heavy grains, fewer leaves and higher cost than other types of rice.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, Director of Nam Sao Clean Rice Cooperative (Phu Dien Commune) said that farmers were currently experimenting with 15 hectares of organic rice in the large field of Dong Hiep with varieties for high yield, such as: varieties of 5451, dai 08, purple rice (Vinh Hao). These were rice varieties with good yield and grain quality. In the process of taking care of rice, Mr. Thuan had focused on finding out suitable biological fertilizers to work with farmers in cooperative for farming. Therefore, the organic experimental rice fields showed few leaves but many flowers, promising a high yield crop.
Mr. Le Minh Quang, an agricultural cadastral officer of Phu Dien commune said that in addition to mobilizing people to gradually switch to high technology, organic and biological technology in rice production, Phu Dien commune also guided, mobilized people to plant seeds simultaneously in order to avoid pests and diseases, harvesting would be synchronized, helping farmers to reduce operating costs of machinery and equipment for rice harvesting.
Improving rice yield
As the district with the largest rice growing area in the province with over 6,000 hectares, in recent years, Tan Phu district has been promoting propaganda, advocacy, and guiding farmers to grow rice in an organic way, creating clean rice brand while improving rice productivity for the upland district.
Recording at some rice growing households in the last winter-spring harvest, the rice output in this crop ranged from 7.5 tons to nearly 8 tons per hectare, meeting export standards. This was considered a successful crop of rice farmers. Especially, after more than 1 year of implementing Resolution No. 04/2021/NQ-HU of Tan Phu District Party Committee on implementing hi-tech agriculture, organic agriculture associated with sustainable consumption markets to improve value of agricultural products in the period 2021-2025, Tan Phu has implemented a number of projects to link production and consumption of rice products effectively in some communes of Phu Binh, Phu Dien...
Mr. Tran Dai Nghia, Chairman of Phu Binh Commune People's Committee said that Phu Binh had identified rice as the main crop of the commune with an area of 760 hectares of specialized cultivation, 3 crops per year, concentrated adjacent to 1 planting area. In recent years, most of the commune's rice growing areas have used mechanization in the stages of land preparation, care, harvesting, and transportation. According to Mr. Nghia, currently, at Phu Binh commune, there was a growing area applying high technology in rice production with an area of nearly 190 hectares with an output of nearly 1.3 thousand tons per year. The above rice area was applied for tillage by 4-wheel tractor, sowing by automatic transplanting machine, taking care of by flying equipment spraying pesticides, harvesting by combine harvesters, transporting by tractors.
At Phu Dien commune, Deputy Chairwoman of the Commune People's Committee Dinh Thi Huong said that Phu Dien commune concentrated commodity production areas such as high-yield rice growing areas in four hamlets and has been established aquaculture, crops, growing lotus and mulberry trees. The total area of rice and other crops at the commune was over 1.1 thousand hectares. In particular, the commune had built a large field project on rice, the entire production area was supplied, irrigated, drained, and drained proactively and has applied advanced and water-saving irrigation techniques.
