Dong Nai currently has 31 per 32 concentrated industrial parks in operation, attracting about 1.2 million workers, in which there are over 700,000 workers working at enterprises inside and outside the industrial zones. Provincial Labor Confederation is managing nearly 2.9 thousand grassroots trade unions with more than 728,000 union members (reaching a gathering rate of over 93%). With the companionship of the Trade Union, Dong Nai employees are increasingly promoting their key roles at enterprises, actively learning and improving their skills to adapt to production innovation, digital transformation, and technology application production and business of enterprises…
Emulation movements, especially the movement of Good Labors, Creative Labors launched by the Trade Union in various forms, suitable for each type of enterprise; employees have registered works, ideas and high-quality products to save materials, reduce environmental pollution, and save costs and labors for businesses… Only in 2022, there were 268 topics, over 90,000 technical initiatives and improvements in all fields and more than 52,000 new ideas from production, benefiting agencies and businesses nearly 420 billion VND.
For the program of 1 million initiatives, efforts to overcome creatively difficulties, determination to win the Covid-19 pandemic launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, employees in the area actively participated with the result of over 90,000 initiatives, ranking 3rd position over 82 Provincial Trade Unions and equivalent ones. The initiatives were recognized, motivating and helping employees become more confident in their works, continue to explore and research to contribute more. From that, it can be affirmed that employees are increasingly skilled, creative in their works and quickly adapt to the industrial revolution 4.0 at enterprises. The contributions of the employees have contributed to bring the provincial Labor Confederation to the leading of the emulation cluster of the provinces in the Southeast region and becoming one of the top 3 leading provinces in the whole country to be proposed to the Prime Minister for awarding the Emulation Flag.
For employees to feel secure in production, contributing to stabilizing enterprises and contributing to the development of the province, Trade Unions at all levels play an important role in coordinating with local authorities and business owners to deploy many taking care of all aspects of physical and mental lives. Thereby, creating a positive motivation to motivate employees to dedicate themselves and contribute to the development of the locality and enterprises.
Specifically, in 2022, implementing the theme: "Taking care of jobs and lives for employees, striving to fulfill the highest goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union", the Confederation of Labor of the province has directed trade unions at all levels in the province to take care of the lives of workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, diseased, affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. Many good models and practices have been widely deployed helping union members and employees to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and jobs. Specifically, there have been over 85,000 union members and employees visited and supported with a budget of nearly 31 billion VND.
The representation to protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees is clearly confirmed by actively negotiating with business owners to apply many beneficial policies for employees. In 2022, the Trade Union negotiated and signed 57 new collective labor agreements bringing many benefits to employees, exceeding 145% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Due to the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic and the world political-economic situation causing difficulties for businesses to clear raw materials for production, could not export goods, reduced orders so many businesses have operated in moderation, employees must take annual leave or taking leave without salary. Particularly in the first quarter of 2023, the whole province had more than 31,000 employees affected by employment and income.
Faced with that situation, the provincial Labor Confederation directed trade unions at all levels in the province to promptly monitor the labor and employment situation; coordinate with functional sectors to work with enterprises in order to stabilize labor relations, ensure jobs and income for employees.
At the same time, directing trade unions at all levels to implement Decision No. 6696-QD/TLD dated January 16, 2023 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on supporting union members and employees whose working hours reduced and labor contracts terminated due to the reduction of orders. By April 10, the Provincial Trade Union at all levels reviewed and approved to support more than 11,000 workers with an amount of over 13 billion dong. The Provincial Labor Confederation coordinated with units to organize a ceremony on giving gifts for employees returning to work at enterprises. The Union bases strengthen support for workers to borrow capital to improve their lives, and continue to accompany businesses to overcome difficulties and stabilize production.
The Provincial Labor Confederation has directed trade unions at all levels, especially the union bases to encourage union members and workers to overcome difficulties, unite, join forces, and work with enterprises to maintain and develop production and business, and stabilize their lives and works. Coordinating with industries to work directly with the enterprises' board of directors to support, remove difficulties, and encourage employees to feel secure in production. Having plans to coordinate with departments, agencies, sectors and localities to strengthen vocational training and introduce jobs for employees.
The Trade Union Congress identified breakthrough solutions including: Group of solutions to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees; group of solutions promoting the role of negotiation with business owners, building harmonious and stable labor relations; propagating, educating and raising awareness for union members and employees to understand the law, grasp the regulations on their rights and obligations in labor relations; continue to mobilize employees to study, improve their skills, and easily access jobs requiring high technology; actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, especially emulation to well implement movements and campaigns launched by the Trade Union...
In addition, promoting the role of a connection to encourage businesses of all economic sectors to spend money and time on training, retrain employees to have a team of skilled and highly qualified labors, master science and technology, have labor skills, industrial style, sense of discipline... contribute to the development of enterprises and improve the lives of union members and employees in all aspects.
