Supporting industry plays a very important role in the economy, as a direct driving force in creating added value, helping to increase the competitiveness of main industrial products and speeding up the industrialization process. Vietnam is strongly integrating and bringing its products and goods to the world market, so developing a supporting industry is also a way to self-manufacture and build a national brand.

Linking for development
Developing supporting industry is an essential requirement, but this is a very difficult problem, not only the enterprise community or a single locality can successfully implement it. As the largest economic region in the country, the Southeast region has many conditions to develop supporting industry in the future, which requires localities to link and support each other to develop. Within the framework of the seminar program on Supporting small and medium enterprises to participate in the global supply chain organized by the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with Tuoi Tre Newspapers, the provinces, and cities in the region signed MOUs in cooperation.
Accordingly, localities in the region will support enterprises and at the same time join the global supply chain, aiming to build an autonomous industry in Vietnam. Specifically, will closely coordinate in organizing regional association conferences in the direction of industrial development according to the advantages of each locality; research, propose solutions, mechanisms, and policies for industrial and supporting industry development... The parties also coordinated to organize conferences, seminars, and supported small and medium enterprises to participate in the global supply chain. Cooperating in researching, commenting and proposing the development of the Industrial Law; linking to form raw material areas for industrial production.
Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said that building an autonomous industry was a great aspiration at the national level and localities needed to make efforts and cooperate together to perform common tasks.
Dong Nai increases the proportion of supporting industry
For Dong Nai, in the export structure of industrial products, up to now, more than half of export turnover belongs to the group of supporting industrial products. Currently, Dong Nai is one of the most significant production and export centers of input materials for industrial production in Vietnam. Dong Nai enterprises are highly appreciated by world brands for their dynamism and ability to complete many difficult and large orders in a short time.
Dong Nai strives that by the end of 2025, supporting industry will account for about 21-23% of the province's industry value. The province will also find ways to create a connection between supporting industry and enterprises producing finished products to cooperate closely with each other, develop more supporting industry zones and clusters along with accompanying incentive policies. Ms. Nguyen Hoang Quyen, Head Division of Industry Management (Department of Industry and Trade) added that Dong Nai would regularly coordinate with the Department of Industry and related units to enhance information exchange and implement support policies reasonably and timely support to promote supporting industry enterprises in the province to develop.
