United Nations encourages peaceful settlement of disputes

On September 18th, the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called on member nations of the UN to discuss the most effective measures to deal with all world’s urgent issues such as promoting sustainable development and preventing unemploymentinequality as well as the peaceful settlement of disputesconflicts which are becoming more and more intense.



Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 67th ​​Working Session of the UN General Assembly, the Secretary-General highly appreciated General Assembly’s determining the target of peaceful settlement of glob​al disputes and conflicts, which are the main topics of the General Assembly term 67 and going to be discussed the following week.

As the UN Secretary-General, he encouraged the policy on resolving all disagreements, disputes and conflicts through conversations. The Secretary General also assumed that there is still much unexploited potential to achieve this goal.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon encouraged the 67th ​​Session to further strengthen the efforts of the member countries to speed up the process of UN reform. According to him, human beings are living in a tough period when instability, unemployment and inequality are significantly increasing. So more than ever, the United Nations must be the pioneer to address the urgent and crucial issues to meet the aspirations for peace, security, and prosperity of all people in the world.
