Speaking at the opening session, UN General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon has called on leaders in the World to act more than what they are doing for World peace and development. According to him, the people of the nations of the world are expecting and requiring more specific and greater results, from this forum because on the above mentioned at the present, not in the future.
UN Secretary General said that human beings are suffering from inequality; intolerance, unfair treatment and insecurity... which are on an increasing trend. But, according to him, he felt sorry that in this context, many governments are spending excessive money in the procurement of weapons whereas cutting investments which should be for the sake of human beings. That is not to mention the climate on the Earth is changing unpredictably, badly affecting human’s lives, but it has not caught much attention of many people and attracted adequate investments to limit and prevent its effects to humans.
UN Secretary General -Ban Ki Moon said that to live in a such a World, human beings require more effort in the UN, they don’t want to see this organization as a isolated social but the cooperation, unity and working together to solve all these burning issues from now on and give them very specific and clear hopes in the future.
