(News Portal – Dong Nai) - At present, many enterprises in Dong Nai province have seen a boost in orders and provided stable employment for workers. As a result, workers are excited because there are more job opportunities, increased income, and improved quality of life.
Workers Accelerating Production at Enterprises
Production competition
In 2023, Dong Nai had over 80,000 workers on leave or laid off, with nearly 40,000 people losing their jobs. Dong Nai has implemented policies to support workers, including providing financial assistance to laid-off workers and deferring the implementation of labor contracts for nearly 10,000 people, with a total amount of nearly 15 billion VND; issuing decisions on unemployment benefits for nearly 58,000 people, with a total amount of nearly 1,800 billion VND. In addition, there is support for job creation, maintenance, and expansion, creating opportunities for workers to return to the labor market.
According to a representative from TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company, the company currently needs to recruit 1,000 ordinary workers to serve production. The company proactively contacts former workers to invite them back to work and pays them the same salary as when they left (up to level 4). The company has preferential policies for skilled workers in the garment industry and encourages workers to refer their relatives and friends to work at the company, with a bonus ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 million VND per person.
ATAD Steel Structure Corporation specializes in the installation of pre-engineered steel buildings and high-quality steel structures at Long Khanh Industrial Park, and is participating in the construction of the Passenger Terminal Package of the Long Thanh International Airport Project. Due to abundant orders since the beginning of the year, the company has accelerated production and has a demand to recruit 300-500 workers to serve the signed projects.
The working atmosphere at the company is currently vibrant. Workers are excited to work on a national key project. Mr. Lu Trong Truong, who works in Welding Team 1 of the company, said that when the factory started running the Long Thanh Airport Project, workers in the company were eager to work to complete the assigned tasks on schedule. The company has launched a competition and provided many incentives to motivate workers to work productively and efficiently. Similarly, after facing difficulties due to the global economic situation, the orders of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park) have stabilized. Workers are happy to have jobs and increased income.
In the wood industry, which has been heavily affected by order fluctuations, the situation is gradually stabilizing. Mr. Dinh Van Manh, who works at a wood production company in Tam Phuoc Ward (Bien Hoa City), said that in the past, he worked 3 days a week and his income dropped to just over 3 million VND per month. But now, the work has stabilized. Increased income means he no longer has to owe rent or struggle to support his family. On the contrary, favorable working conditions and stable orders motivate him to be dedicated and strive to fulfill the assigned orders.
Completing orders in Q2-2024
The abundant orders from the beginning of the year until now indicate a brighter economic outlook compared to 2023. All enterprises have increased labor recruitment and launched extensive competitions to improve product quality. In addition, there are many policies regarding wages, bonuses, and living allowances to foster employee loyalty and dedication.
In localities such as Long Thanh, Nhon Trach, Bien Hoa, and Long Khanh, orders at many enterprises have flourished, and workers are now working overtime without rotating shifts, leave, or deferred labor contracts like in 2023. Many companies are actively recruiting a large number of workers, ranging from 500 to 1,000 people, providing opportunities for unemployed workers to return to the labor market.
Chairman of the Labor Union of Nhon Trach District, Duong Quoc Binh, said that enterprises in the district are currently operating steadily, with signed orders until the end of Q2-2024. Workers have regular employment, so they are enthusiastic and actively participate in competitions organized by the Trade Union and enterprises. However, the current difficulty for enterprises is a shortage of production workers; many companies have to recruit workers from other provinces, but the demand is still not met.
According to the provincial Labor Union, Dong Nai's trade unions at all levels have been actively cooperating with relevant agencies to conduct thorough inspections, gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation, and provide support to businesses and workers facing difficulties. They have been promptly addressing challenges and obstacles related to businesses and workers. As a result, the operations of some companies in the province have been able to continue smoothly.
