(News Portal – Dong Nai) - With the authorization of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, on May 1st, at the Khanh Tiet Room of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of External Relations, Nguyen Viet Thang, chaired a meeting with a delegation of local officials from South Korea for practical learning in the province.

Attending the meeting were leaders from several departments, agencies, the People's Committee of Bien Hoa City, the Union of Friendship Organizations of the province, the Vietnam - South Korea Friendship Association of the province, and Dong Nai University.

During the working session, both sides discussed and exchanged on relevant issues. Deputy Director of the Department of External Relations, Nguyen Viet Thang, provided the delegation with information about the province's socio-economic situation and the attraction of foreign investment in Dong Nai province. Up to now, there have been 33 industrial parks established in Dong Nai province, with a total area of over 10,514 hectares; of which 31 industrial parks are currently operational, and 2 industrial parks are in the preparation phase for infrastructure construction. Regarding foreign investment attraction, there are currently 46 countries and territories operating investment projects in the province, with a total of 1,606 projects and an investment capital of 34.65 billion USD. Among them, South Korea ranks first in terms of the number of projects and total investment capital, with 421 projects and a total investment of 7.26 billion USD. The South Korean investment projects have been operating quite stably, making significant contributions to the local budget and providing employment for over 171,000 workers.

Since 1995, Dong Nai province has focused on expanding international cooperation with partners, localities, and foreign territories worldwide. With South Korea, Dong Nai province has had effective cooperation with two provinces in South Korea, Gyeongnam and Jeollanam.
Ms. Ryoo Hyosook, the head of the delegation, and its members have exchanged in various fields such as construction, industry, energy, social housing, foreign investment attraction, international exchange, high-tech agriculture, and unmanned aerial vehicles for agricultural production.
It is known that the delegation of local officials from South Korea will be working with five provinces and cities in Vietnam that have cooperative relationships with South Korea, including Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The purpose of the visit is to gain practical insights to promote strategic cooperation between the local governments of South Korea and Vietnam.
