The Provincial People's Committee has just issued plan No. 4154/KH-UBND on prevention of foot and mouth disease in Dong Nai province in the period of 2021-2025. The total cost of implementing the program is nearly VND 7 billion.

The overall objective of the plan is to effectively control foot and mouth disease, contribute to the successful implementation of the livestock strategy for the period 2021-2025, vision to 2045.
Specifically, the number of foot and mouth outbreaks and cattle suffering from the disease annually decreased by 10-20% compared to the average of the period 2016-2020. Successfully build and maintain at least 350 safe cattle breeding facilities with foot and mouth disease. By 2025, there will be no more foot and mouth outbreaks in the province. From 2026, the province will build safe districts or whole province to foot and mouth disease.
The province's agriculture sector will focus on implementing solutions to achieve the above objectives such as: focusing on propagating the relevant contents on the prevention and control of epidemics in animal; prevention of disease with vaccine; epidemic surveillance; control of epidemics through transportation; control through slaughter, veterinary hygiene check and good implementation of measures to respond to and handle foot and mouth outbreaks ...
