According to the Ministry of Health, facing the medication shortages in localities, the Ministry of Health has directed the National Central Drug Procurement Center to organize the opening of financial proposals for bidding packages to supply medication on the list of National-level concentrated medication procurement in the period of 2022 - 2023 includes 528 medicinal products with a value of nearly VND9 trillion.
In addition, the Ministry of Health has also negotiated prices
for 62 brand-name drugs and generic drugs with great use value. Currently,
there are 15 brand-name drugs that have been approved by the contractor.
Since the beginning of 2022, the Ministry of Health has issued certificates of medication circulation for 1,147 kinds of drugs. In early June, 2022, the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) extended the validity of registration numbers for 6,251 foreign and domestic drugs, medicinal ingredients, vaccines and medical biologicals. There are about 3,000 types of drugs, medicinal ingredients and medical biological products with circulation registration certificates expired on December 31, 2022, which have been announced to extend the validity of their registration numbers.
