Cibao Vietnam Co., Ltd, located in Long Khanh City has also announced to increase the regional minimum wage at VND210,000 per person per month for more than 5,000 employees. Previously, in May 2022, the company increased by VND100,000 per person per month. Accumulated after 2 increases, each employee of the company is increased by VND310,000 per month. Thereby, the company wishes to share difficulties with employees, help them feel secure to work continuously at the company for a long time, and complete the annual production plan set by the enterprise.

Being an enterprise with a large number of workers in the area of Nhon Trach District, Hwaseung Vina Co., Ltd. has just announced the adjustment of the regional minimum wage for all employees of the company since July 1, 2022. Accordingly, the company's leaders met and agreed with the grassroots Trade Union to increase the level of VND291,000 per person per month (higher than the regulations). This salary is calculated in the July salary period and received in August 2022. In addition, the company also added a main dish in the lunch menu for employees.

Ms. Le Thi Hoai, a worker at Hwaseung Vina Co., Ltd., confided: "In the past 2 years, we have faced many difficulties because of the Covid-19 epidemic. When returning to normal life and work, the prices of many items increased. Therefore, we are very excited when businesses adjust wages for employees. The increase in salary at this time is very meaningful, helping us to alleviate some of the difficulties."

At Greentech Headgear Co., Ltd, located in Nhon Trach District, so far, a new salary scale has been built according to regulations. The company agreed to increase the regional minimum wage by VND292,000 for all employees since July 2022. Thereby, raising the minimum wage for probationary workers is nearly VND5 million per month, after probationary period is VND5.3 million per month, higher than regulations.

Motivation for workers to be diligent

According to many trade union officials in the province, the approved regional minimum wage is only the lowest floor to protect vulnerable workers. Currently, most enterprises pay their employees higher than the minimum wage floor. This is the result after the trade union organization at the enterprise reached an agreement with the business owner. After all, paying wages according to the regional minimum wage will not meet the living standards of workers in a time of "price increase" as today. If life is not secure, sooner or later employees will quit their job to find another job or return to their hometown.

Ms. Dang Thi ThomChairperson of the Trade Union of Dona Pacific Co., Ltd. Located in Trang Bom District said, in March 2022, the company has increased 3% salary for all employees. However, in order to ensure a minimum standard of living and improve the lives of employees today, the Trade Union has made efforts to negotiate with business owners and reach an agreement to increase the salary of employees by 6%. In addition, the enterprise still maintains to support employees with attendance money, shift meals, and transportation support for workers living from away from the company. The purpose is to retain skilled, enthusiastic, and long-term employees to stay with the enterprise.

It is known that in recent days, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has organized classes to implement payment of regional minimum wages for employees working under labor contracts according to regulations for business owners in the province. At the same time, organize the exchange and answer the problems and difficulties in the implementation process at enterprises. Previously, the Department had issued a document guiding enterprises on increasing the regional minimum wage. In addition, the Provincial Confederation of Labor has directed the grassroots Trade Unions to enhance the role of trade unions in negotiating with enterprises to adjust the appropriate salary levels and to supervise the implementation of enterprises towards employees.

Recently, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has written to request trade unions at all levels to strengthen the performance of a number of tasks related to the implementation of Decree No. 38 of the Government on minimum wages. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor asked trade unions at all levels to direct grassroots trade unions to actively participate with employers in building the payrolls of enterprises according to new regulations on increasing regional minimum wages. At the same time, gather, regularly monitor and know the situation from the grassroots and report on the assessment of salary adjustment in enterprises in the industry and locality. In addition, closely follow the situation of labor relations at enterprises, thoughts and aspirations of employees to have timely and appropriate handling. Thereby, contributing to ensuring the stability of the labor market, ensuring the local social security.
