Chairman of People's Committee of Long Khanh City has just sent a written request to specialized units, communes and wards to implement strengthening the prevention and control of Avian Influenza in the city.
Specifically, the Head of the Economic Department, Head of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, Chairman of the People's Committees of the wards and communes and heads of the concerned agencies and units are continuing to implement the strengthening of prevention and control of avian influenza in the city, intensifying the propaganda to farmers and the community about the rights and responsibilities in proactively preventing livestock in order to minimize the risk of disease spread, directing poultry owners to intensify the strict application of biosafety raising measures and proactive measures to prevent avian influenza and organize vaccination injection for poultry for the rate of at least 80% of the total livestock at risk and subject to vaccination.
In addition, the veterinary industry needs to closely monitor epidemiology in the area, quickly and promptly detect infected poultry, promptly report to the City People's Committee for timely handling, localizing, and controlling not to let the flu spread widely, organize spraying and disinfection of environmental disinfection in high risk epidemic areas to destroy pathogens, and notify people to immediately inform the local authorities and veterinary agencies when discovering dead poultry without known causes.
