Implementing the project of converting the function of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone (IZ) 1

In the morning of March 18th, Standing Deputy Secretary Ho Thanh Son had a meeting with the provincial Party Committee's Personnel Committee about the progress of implementing the function conversion project of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone 1.

According to a report of the Department of Planning and Investment, in 2014, the Prime Minister issued a written consent to the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province approving the Project of converting Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban-commercial-service area. Currently, the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province has submitted a report to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for appraisal and advising the Prime Minister to issue a decision to remove Bien Hoa 1 IZ from the industrial zone planning as a legal basis to implement this project. 

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son requested the provincial authorities to contact the Ministry of Planning and Investment for instructions on how to carry out the procedures as prescribed, submit to the Prime Minister for promulgation a decision to remove Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Zone from the national industrial zone planning in June 2020, creating the necessary legal basis for relocating operating enterprises in production and business as regulated.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son also requested the Steering Committee the project to overcome environmental pollution; developing specific plans for each relevant agencies to execute function conversion project of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone 1. The authorities shall be responsible for well-organized propaganda, advocacy and announcement of the roadmap and timeline for relocation so that enterprises can actively coordinate to implement.
