Network of coordinators promotes supporting industries in Dong Nai

Previously, on the afternoon of November 15, the Kansai Industrial Zones Authority and the Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI-Kansai from Japan) jointly organized a conference to introduce a coordinator network program linking enterprises from Vietnam and Japan.

According to the provincial industrial zones authority, the number of small and medium Japanese companies investing in Dong Nai has been increasing in recent years and is expected to continue to maintain its steep rise in the future. It is necessary to have a connection so that the supporting industries of Dong Nai can supply raw and processed materials to meet the increasing demand of Japanese enterprises.

Since 2013, Dong Nai People's Committee and METI-Kansai have signed a framework of economic cooperation, with a major target of developing supporting industries and implementing a model project to develop Dong Nai into a center of manufacturing in Vietnam.

As part of the program, 10 coordinators selected from departments, sectors, business associations and training institutions in the province will take on the role of connecting Japanese enterprises in Dong Nai with local businesses, training institutions and local authorities. Specifically, the network of coordinators will connect Japanese enterprises who already or have the intention of investing in Dong Nai with capable enterprises specialized in supporting industries of Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular. As for incompetent businesses, the coordinators will support by linking them with training institution for support in human resources as well as research to improve production processes and product quality. Difficulties encountered by Japanese enterprises will also be transferred to the appropriate authorities to be resolved in time.

In October, the coordinators were trained in Japan to improve their skills. It is expected that in March 2018, Dong Nai People's Committee and METI-Kansai will hold another training course for Dong Nai's supporting industry enterprises to learn about management process as well as the quality standards of Japanese enterprises.
