The southeast region is becoming an attractive destination for beach tourism experiences in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province with a variety of coastal resort systems from affordable to high-end; or forest eco-tourism, garden tourism, agricultural - rural experience tourism in Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh. Promoting the strengths of regional connectivity

The southeast region has many advantages that few places can compare in developing tourism products. In particular, recently, the region has received attention and development promotion from the government as well as relevant ministries and departments, specifically Resolution 24 of the Government on socio-economic development of the southeast region with Ho Chi Minh City as the driving force. From there, it shows that the possibility of connecting tourism development will have a high chance of success. According to Associate Professor-Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, former Director of the Vietnam Institute of Economics, each province and city in the southeast region has its own starting points and strengths. This will be an opportunity for the region to build diverse and rich linked tourism products that attract tourists. For example, Ho Chi Minh City has the potential to develop the night economy; traveling by train departs from Ho Chi Minh City, arrives in Binh Duong as the trip completes after experiencing the best things the region has to offer. Mr. Thien said that to develop tourism, each locality must know its own backgrounds, situations and place the tourism industry in the forefront of the entire region's development, the country and even the world.

According to experts, the southeast region needs to fully assess the potential and current state of tourism so that there can be breakthroughs, strong changes, and more sustainable development. High-end and high-quality tourism products must be developed for the entire southeast region.

Currently, provinces and cities in the southeast region have not yet fully exploited their tourism potential, and their development is inadequate; communication and promotion work is not really in depth partly due to the lack of new, creative, attractive and quality tourism products; environmental protection issues need special attention...

According to Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Dong Nai province is focusing on implementing Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated December 30, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing tourism into an important industry. According to the Resolution, Dong Nai tourism will provide 3 main products in eco-tourism - resort, cultural - spiritual tourism; agricultural - rural tourism. In addition, focus on developing culinary tourism products, health care, shopping, and linking OCOP products with tourist destinations.
