Addressing opening session of the meeting, Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh emphasized that this meeting is to transfer of tasks from the 7th tenure to the 8th tenure and that Dong Nai People’s Council delegates will have to focus on:
- Selecting moral and talented delegates to take the positions of People’s Council, and People’s Committee and to take responsibility towards voters.
- Making good decisions concerning locally important issues.
- Taking leadership and giving guidelines on the implementation and completion of socio-economic targets, and tasks to improve people’s life, to preserve social security, to stabilize political security, to maintain national defense, security, and social order and security, and to deserve voters' trust and the trust that Dong Nai voters and their families have kept for delegates.

The meeting |
This is a significant meeting as well as a foundation for the provincial level government machinery to exercise leadership and to give directions on the implementation and completion of socio-economic development targets and tasks in 2011-2016 period, to announce the Party’s guidelines and the government’s policies and laws actively and creatively, which reflects the local authority’s real situation – the resolutions by the 11th National Party Congress and the resolutions by the 9th Dong Nai Party Congress, to contribute to increasing the government machinery’s efficiency, to meet reform targets, and to make a successful industrialization and modernization process of the country and Dong Nai.
Vice Director of Department of Internal Affairs and Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai Election Committee Nguyen Kim Hiep made an announcement of election results. 1,886,930 voters went to polls, accounting for 99.73 percent.
Generally, Dong Nai 8th Tenure People’s Council election took place in a democratic and legal atmosphere and came to a successful close.
Chairperson of the meeting adopted resolutions and certified the 8th Tenure People’s Council delegates’ titles to for 80 elected candidates.
Next, Chairperson of the meeting agreed upon candidate nomination reports for the titles of the 8th Tenure People’s Council and People's Committee and those as the Jurors of People's Court in 2011-2016 period.
In addition, the meeting adopted its five-year work program from 2011 to 2016 to be a foundation for the implementation process.
