National Assignment Meeting to Launch Vocational Training Project for Rural Laborers in First Half of 2011: Dong Nai Offers Vocational Training Courses to Nearly 5,200 Laborers

Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs’ report indicates that in the first half of 2011 267,032 laborers got vocational training according to the Vocational Training Project, representing 53 percent according to annual plans, including 32.7 percent for type-1 government-policy beneficiaries and 10.06 percent for type-2 poverty beneficiaries.

The project’s targets were reached as planned.

According to the province’s report in the first half of 2011, 5,159 rural laborers got vocational training and 80 percent of them were employed after training.

Nine vocational training centers and one  trade school in districts and 185 teachers were called for to participate in the program.

36 teaching programs were updated and 40 others were added.

In the first half of 2011, 109 communal civil servants attended refresher courses on the state administration and all vocational schools were inspected.

According to plans from now to late 2011, Dong Nai will offer vocational training to 12,000 rural laborers, sum up pilot models in Dinh Quan and offer refresher courses to 800 communal civil servants.

In terms of implementing “Four HAVEs” and “Four KNOWs” project according to the government’s guidelines, Dong Nai has established provincial and district steering committees and set up action programs in 2011-2015 period; made plans for carrying out surveys at 300 households in 142 communes; enlisted the province’s vocational schools,

“Four KNOWs” is that agencies cooperate with vocational schools in getting learners to know that they will be assisted in seeking for jobs after training, to know about contents and support policies on the project, and to know about the trade schools where they would like to study.
