On September 29, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi and the delegation have visited and worked with the People's Committee of Thong Nhat District, the investors, the Management Board of Dau Giay Agro-food Wholesale Market (Dau Giay Wholesale Market) on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
According to the Management Board of Dau Giay Wholesale Market, at present, the whole market has had 52 barns still trading the agricultural products with an average output of vegetables and fruits of about 420 tons per day. As for the circulation of goods, there have had currently about 313 vehicles going in and out of the market per day and night. In which, there have had about 68 vehicles entering the goods to the market.
For the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Management Board of Dau Giay Wholesale Market has completed the business operation plan at the market in the conditions of ensuring the epidemic prevention and control. The Market Management Board has installed an automatic disinfection spray system for the vehicles entering the market and installed the barriers. The vehicles have gone to the market in a separate one-way direction and been arranged the centralized parking, etc.
The Dau Giay Wholesale Market has also established a Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control team with a standing force of 10 to 13 members. Therefore, the Market Management Board, the People's Committee of Thong Nhat District have also recommended the Provincial Center for Disease Control to strengthen the supportive measures in the epidemic prevention and control.
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi emphasized that maintaining the operation of the Dau Giay Wholesale Market had played a very important role in both helping the farmers to consume their agricultural products and providing the goods for the market in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic. As a result, the food supply chain has been disrupted. This is possible thanks to the great support from the People's Committee of Thong Nhat District. Therefore, in the coming time, Thong Nhat District and the Management Board of the Dau Giay Wholesale Market will continue to work closely in order to maintain the operation of the market.
The Market Management Board has also needed to develop the regulation on the operation of small traders, including the specific regulations on the epidemic prevention and control and technology application in the trading activities. Particularly, the Department of Health should consider allocating more vaccine resources to Thong Nhat District, in which priority is given to vaccination for the people operating at the Dau Giay Wholesale Market.
