On June 7th in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of State Ministries, Departments, over 20 provinces and cities and 150 American Enterprises participated in the America Meeting to connect and find out the opportunities to promote American investments in Vietnam
The U.S is currently a large export market for Vietnam. Vietnam exports textile, timber products, footwear, computer and electronic products to America and import from them machineries, equipment, technology and materials for manufacturing. The USA has invested about 12 billion USD in Vietnam and ranked 19/119 countries and territories to have the most investments in Vietnam.
According to Mr. Ted Osius – American Ambassador in Vietnam, American investment in Vietnam have been increased but still not worth the two countries’ potential. Therefore, Mr. Osius is calling the American Enterprises to promote their investments in Vietnam on multiple fields; and the Vietnam Government shall continue their administrative reform, assure the intellectual property rights, the labor forces and the environment… to attract more American Enterprises’ investments.
The meeting was also the chance for the American Enterprises to figure out the investment opportunities in Vietnam provinces and cities. Mr. Tran Van Vinh – Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, joined the meeting and had the direct conversations with the American Enterprises about the provincial investment environment and the provincial priority fields for investments.
