“Unlce Ho’s Love Can Warm Mankind’s Heart”

Contestant Nguyen Thi Dung in the final round of  the provincial-level storytelling contest about Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example.

For the time being, Dung is a teacher of English in Vinh Cuu High School (Vinh Cuu district ). She was born in 1975 when the South-Vietnam was completely liberated. She had grown up in the peaceful age and Unlce Ho passed away. Therefore, her feelings about great President Ho Chi Minh came from books, documentations, films, stories about Uncle Ho. Intrinsically she is a woman interested in prose and verse since early age, making her feel deeply about Uncle Ho’s image.  

In the contest, she told the story named “ Unlce Ho came to the poor in the New Year Eve” with her true feelings about him. Via her emotional storytelling voice, his image shines brightly with his love for people. His love is as wide as sea and he is so friendly and simple in his daily life. Addition to his emotional expression, contestant Dung analyzed the story content carefully and profoundly.  

She said, “ Uncle Ho came to the poor in the New Year Eve” is one of numerous stories about his great love for people. That is understanding of a friendly father of the nation. In spite of being a very busy president of the country, he came to the poor without flag, flowers, glorification, etc. but quietly because he wanted to study the real situation of the country. Moreover, he considered the poor and unfortunate people his kin who he has to be responsible for and take care of. She said that his greatness means those things.

She confined to us that she realized a lot of things via the story about him. “ Sometimes because I am so busy with my work that I am indifferent to others’ pain. Compared to him, I am so trivial. Life is so meaningful when we understand others’ happiness and sadness. When sharing with others’ difficulty, we can see true value of life,” said she. 

Being a teacher of literature, she has learnt teacher Nguyen Tat Thanh’s deep love for his students. And that love must come from our heart. Our true love to students can pass to them and that love will develop more and more.
