The sixth Provincial Sports Festival officially began on January 2, 2010 and ended on August 7, 2010, composed of 22 sports: traditional martial arts, vovinam, taichi, mini football, kylin-lion-dragon dance, billiards, Chinese chess, King chess, tennis, body building and fitness, karate, badminton, stick pushing, tug of war, crossbow shooting, table tennis, football, taekwondo, volleyball, swimming and marathon. It was participated by 16 units, including 11 districts and cities and five branches such as Dong Nai General Rubber Company, Provincial Public Security, Provincial Power Company, Provincial Bank, and Department of Education and Training . At the end of the festival, Bien Hoa City won the first team prize (40 gold, 35 silver and 43 bronze medals), Vinh Cuu district placed second (35 gold, 33 silver and 31 bronze ones); and Long Khanh Town ranked third (25 gold, 25 silver and 35 bronze ones).
At the closing ceremony, 94 teams and 131 individuals with excellent achievements during this sports festival have been awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People’s Committee. In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has offered certificates of merit to 115 teams and 111 individuals.
