As of September 2010, 100% of communes, wards, and towns in the province had established the standing committee for domestic violence prevention and control and the whole province has so far had 466 teams of domestic violence prevention with 2,330 members. These teams have actively participated in handling domestic violence. Typically, the reconciling team in Song Trau commune, Trang Bom district conducted reconciliation of 7 out of 11 cases of conflicts among family members in the first quarter of 2010. The model of happy family club continued to be brought into play and considered as one of effective solutions to minimize domestic violence. The diversified forms of propaganda about domestic violence prevention and control have brought good results for the society. The number of domestic violence acts was remarkably reduced and many domestic violence acts were timely discovered, stopped and dealt with in accordance with laws.

However, deploying the model of domestic violence prevention and control in some districts was still slowly; the teams of domestic violence prevention had limited funds, thus their activities were conducted moderately and insufficiently.

Addressing the meeting, Vice-Chairwoman Huynh Thi Nga noted that domestic violence prevention was a key task and it was necessary to pay attention to the victims of domestic violence, other family members and families of workers; continuing to follow the effective solutions in the past time; and building forms of communication which are suitable to specific cases.
