Paying a Visit to and Extending New Year Wishes to the Khmer Community

On the occasion of the Khmer Traditional New Year Chol Chnam Thmay, the leadership of Dong Nai Commission for Ethnic Minority Affairs paid a visit to and extended new year wishes to the Khmer people in Kitipuphatam temple in Long Khanh town and in Thai Hoa temple in Dinh Quan district on the morning of April 16.

Head of Dong Nai Commission for Ethnic Minority Affairs Dieu Bao offer gifts to the Khmer temple heads

During his visit, Mr. Dieu Bao said that the Khmer people in Dong Nai had promoted the spirit of national unity, and been eager to take part in production and learning activities the past years.

A lot of preferential policies to assist ethnic minority people with production and business activities, to help them improve their education, and to provide them with opportunities to rise up in life have been introduced.

On behalf of Dong Nai’s Khmer people Venerable Thich Phap Tan, Head of Thai Hoa temple, Thach Sa Huynh priest, and Head of Kitipuphatam temple thanked for levels of authorities and agencies’ care and for the favorable conditions that they have created for the Khmer people to help strengthen their faiths and religions in accordance with law.

On this occasion, Dong Nai Commission for Ethnic Minority Affairs sent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung’s new year letter and gifts to the Khmer priests and the people in the province.

Dong Nai Commission for Ethnic Minority Affairs offered 14 gifts to exemplary Khmer households and the two above-mentioned temples.
